We have spent five years interviewing veterans about their experience with re-entry, and what skydiving has offered them. A key part of our process is that we involve the community in the development and production of the movie, even if they’ve had no prior film experience. We are casting professional actors alongside first time actors from the veteran community, because it is these collaborations and partnerships that create a level of authenticity and specificity that is so important to the world and our collective storytelling. We will also be offering work force development opportunities behind the camera.

Here are a couple of our collaborators who have consulted on the project during the development phase of the film.

Sterling Dunn

Sterling served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan. Coming home was its own kind of battle and he found healing through skydiving, thanks to Veteran’s Skydive for Life and Jump For Valor. Now, he helps other veterans take that same leap, finding peace through purpose together.

Monica Donahoe

Monica served as a machine gunner with the 585th MP Co. in OIF 2009-2010. After serving she found skydiving through the VA's sports therapy program. She lives on a 5-acre homestead with her loving fiancé, 4 children, and one grandchild. Plus one grandbaby on the way!

We are committed to ensuring that beyond conventional release outlets, this film plays within the community in which it’s based and is accessible to veterans communities across America. We hope to partner with the Department of Veteran Affairs related organizations, foundations, and support services to host community screenings, using the themes explored in the film to spark dialogue and connection.
